Join us Tuesday October 17th for a meeting discussing Public Safety in our region

Center for New Liberalism, 1156 15th St NW Washington, DC 20005

Join us Downtown at the Center for New Liberalism headquarters to discuss crime, violence, and public safety with Peace For DC Executive Director, Marcus Ellis.

Peace For DC is a local nonprofit that galvanizes community-based organizations, philanthropy, experts, and policymakers in a collective effort to reduce gun violence across Washington, DC.

Marcus Ellis serves as the Executive Director of Peace For DC, previously he was the Chief of Staff at the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement for the Executive Office of the Mayor of Washington DC. He has also served as the Director of the Safer Stronger DC Community Partnerships Office for DC’s Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services. He has dedicated his career to public safety in DC, community violence intervention, and advocating for peace in our neighborhoods.

Members of the DC New Liberals will be doorbelling to get out the vote on Saturday, November 5th. This event is in conjunction with the Abigail Spanberger Campaign for VA-7.

Those who RSVP will receive a separate email with the logistics, location information, and details for the carpool.

Here's the schedule for the day:

  • 9:00 am Meet at 1156 15th St NW , Washington, DC 20005 for a light breakfast

  • 10:00 am Carpool to Dumfries, VA

  • 11:00 pm Split up to get out the vote in Prince William County!

  • *1:00 pm Wrap up, return to DC

  • 2:00 pm Post-event drinks and food (location TBD)

*The campaign is encouraging volunteers to sign up for two GOTV Canvass sessions. If attendees are interested, we can coordinate for some (or all) of the group to also canvass in the 1:00 pm time slot.

Join us this Saturday for a rally and canvassing supporting Virginia Democrats

Members of the DC New Liberals will be attending a rally and canvassing for Rep. Abigail Spanberger this Saturday, September 24th. The Rally celebrates the start of early voting in Virginia and will include both Representative Spanberger and Senator Mark Warner.

Here's the schedule for the day:

  • 10:30am Meet at 1156 15th St NW , Washington, DC 20005

  • 11:00am Carpool to Woodbridge, VA

  • 12:00pm Canvassing in Prince William County

  • 1:45pm Lunch near Woodbridge (location TBD)

  • 3:00pm Rally with Representative Spanberger and Senator Warner in Woodbridge

  • 5:00pm Return to DC

No canvassing experience is necessary, the campaign will provide all necessary materials and training.
