Remembering Markose Butler, our friend and former Organizing Director

On Wednesday, Markose Butler, our friend and former Organizing Director, passed away after experiencing complications from lung transplant surgery. He was 32.

Over the years that he was a part of the Center for New Liberalism, Markose was an integral part of our community, first as the lead for our Austin chapter, and later as our Organizing Director. He was smart, passionate, and caring. Without him, CNL would not be where it is today.

Markose was the kind of person who had strong beliefs, and he always acted on those beliefs. The world is a better place for him having been here. We will miss him immensely, and we ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We are compiling a book of everyone’s memories of Markose, and what he meant to everyone in this organization, to share with his loved ones. If you have anything you’d like to share, please fill out the form below. If you have any photos of him that you’d like to share with us, please email them to tobin@cnliberalism.org.
