Greg Schultz Joins Center for New Liberalism as Senior Advisor
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Center for New Liberalism is excited to announce the appointment of Greg Schultz as a Senior Advisor.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Greg to the CNL team as we head into the 2026 midterm elections,” said Colin Mortimer, Co-Founder and Director of the Center for New Liberalism. “Greg’s expertise and perspective will be a critical asset to CNL and our chapters across the country as we continue to expand our work to advance liberal, center-left ideas.”
As Senior Advisor, Schultz will advise our political work heading into the midterms, helping to build crucial networks between our members and center-left leaders across the country.
Schultz is a senior Democratic strategist and the architect of President Joe Biden’s successful 2020 Democratic presidential primary campaign. He previously advised President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden in the White House and has held senior roles throughout federal, state, and local politics.
“I am thrilled to work with and advise the Center for New Liberalism at such a defining moment for the center-left," explained Greg Schultz. "If Democrats want to govern and lead, we first have to win—and winning requires us to be disciplined, strategic, and focused on the issues that matter most to American families. CNL’s grassroots energy and commitment to common-sense American values are exactly what we need to build a durable majority in 2026 and beyond."
Previously, Schultz managed President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign in Ohio, where he oversaw communications, political strategy, digital operations, voter protection, and turnout efforts in one of the nation’s most competitive battleground states. He has also advised governors, members of Congress, and local officials on legislative strategy and coalition-building.
In addition to his public-sector work, Schultz advises CEOs and senior leaders on organizational strategy, leadership, and public affairs. He currently serves as the inaugural Executive Fellow for the John Glenn College of Public Affairs’ Washington, D.C. programs and participated in last year’s Center for New LiberalismNew Liberal Action Summit.
