Center for New Liberalism & Denver New Liberals Endorse John Hickenlooper for U.S. Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Center for New Liberalism and its local chapter in Colorado, the Denver New Liberals, are announcing their endorsement of Senator John Hickenlooper in his campaign for re-election to the US Senate.
“In his first six years in the Senate, Senator Hickenlooper has established himself as a leading voice for pragmatism and smart solutions to our biggest problems,” explained Center for New Liberalism Deputy Director Tobin Stone. “He’s stood out for his work on energy abundance & affordability and his strong opposition to Donald Trump’s extreme tariff agenda. We’re excited to support Senator Hickenlooper in his re-election campaign, and we look forward to working with him over the next six years to deliver solutions for Americans and Coloradans."
As a former small business brewer, Senator Hickenlooper brings a firsthand perspective to Trump’s trade war that resonates with Colorado voters. In January, the Center for New Liberalism awarded him an A+ on our Senate Tariff & Trade Response Index, reflecting his dedicated opposition to the administration’s protectionist agenda. Senator Hickenlooper has been notably effective in connecting the real costs of Trump’s tariffs to Colorado’s key industries, from outdoor recreation to craft brewing.
With rising energy prices and affordability a top concern for voters, Senator Hickenlooper has been a champion of energy abundance. He recently introduced the Geo POWER Act to expand geothermal energy nationwide and has advocated for legislation to modernize energy transmission infrastructure, demonstrating that increasing energy supply and lowering costs go hand in hand.
