Rep. George Whitesides (D-CA) and others discussed why they thought it was important for Democrats to push for a revival of U.S. space exploration. They talked about how long-term investments, a diverse workforce, and responsible regulation could encourage progress in the commercial space industry, which they said should not be viewed as a "billionaires' boys' game" but as a shared American endeavor. This discussion was part of the Center for New Liberalism's 2025 New Liberal Action Summit.
