Denver New Liberals Spearhead Political Action Week, Championing Pragmatic Policies for Progress
The Denver New Liberals are making a lasting impression on Colorado Politics.
Denver, CO – The Denver New Liberals, a chapter of the Center for New Liberalism, recently concluded a highly successful week of impactful political action, dedicated to promoting pragmatic, center-left policies both within Colorado and across the nation.
The Denver New Liberals commenced the week with a spirited happy hour, held at Talnua Distillery, in the company of Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) and YIMBY Denver. More than 60 people attended the event, which was a jubilant celebration of Rep. Pettersen's commendable introduction of the YIMBY Act in Congress. State Representative Iman Jodeh and an aide for State Representative Steven Woodrow also stopped by the event, offering valuable insights into the pressing need for land use reform at the state level.
Later in the week, the Denver New Liberals' enthusiasm led them to Washington D.C. for the New Liberal Action Summit (NLAS) hosted by the Center for New Liberalism and New Democracy.
Among the many fruitful engagements, Thursday witnessed a productive meeting between CNL staff, the Denver New Liberals, and Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO). The discussions revolved around essential topics, including the expanded Child Tax Credit, rural broadband expansion, federal housing reform, and the urgency of permitting reform.
Events culminated with the Denver New Liberals actively participating in the NLAS Hill Day. During this event, they met with Representative Brittany Pettersen's (CO-07) staff to advocate for permitting reform and also conscientiously dropped off informative literature on the matter at Representative Jason Crow's (CO-06) office.
As the Denver New Liberals reflect on their impactful week of political advocacy, they remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering pragmatic solutions that will bring positive change to Colorado and the entire nation.
