Young people are excited to hear about pragmatic solutions to the problems they care about the most.
Washington, DC – Yesterday evening, Representative Scott Peters (CA-50) joined the Center for New Liberalism for a live-streamed conversation about the work he has been doing to advance pragmatic ideas on permitting reform, housing policy, budget policy, and more.
Throughout the hour-long event, which was live-streamed to Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, more than 5,000 young people tuned in to hear from the Congressman.
During and in the lead-up to the event, the Center for New Liberalism and its members also raised money from mostly first-time donors from CNL grassroots network for Representative Peters’ re-election campaign. This shows the potential of support for pragmatic leaders from a new generation of leaders across the country.
“Scott Peters has long been a champion for New Liberal values through his work in Congress. The Center for New Liberalism is proud to have supported Representative Peters through our event yesterday evening,” said CNL Director Colin Mortimer. “As the 2024 election season continues to ramp up, we intend to continue to use our grassroots chapters and digital platforms to elevate the elected officials and individuals who embody the values and policies that we believe will ensure Democrats can win this November.”
